I turned freeze protection down to 35 degrees f. I set the pump to run automagically from 2am to 6am. My thinking is keeping the pump running while we are in the coldest hours of the night will prevent any ice from forming. Criticisms, suggestions?
I would increase the freeze protection to around 40 degrees. Yes, running the pump is fine as well. It takes a while before everything freezes, so keeping things moving a few hours per day, plus the freeze protection is a wise choice.

That is amazing information!! I actually spent time looking for freeze rates before posting here, should have figured it'd be here! I do have the added protection of an insulated, but not temperature controlled, pool house/cabana/keep the wet kids out of of my house bathroom thing. Thank you both, I'm going to turn the FP up to 40.
