SOS spa blower algae

Hello PearlandPoolfam: Glad the Ahh-Some Pool formula worked. I recommend that you add a 6 ounce container every 30 days or so to the pool. Just add the gel into the skimmer(s). One 6 ounce jar treats up to 20,000 gallons. The water will take on a brilliance that is over the top in clarity. Plus, bio-grit, gunk, oils and all the other grundge and grime that is adhering to vinyl, gunite, marcite, pebbletec or tile will slowly be removed.

We are still having this problem unfortunately I’ve gone through a lot of Ahhsome and kept chemicals in check When we run spa blowers this slimy dark brown gunk comes out. We had our pool replastered about a year ago and had quite a bit of plaster/cream that could trapped in the plumbing. No doubt some is still there letting this junk grow.

Have you increased your blower & spa run times as suggested previously to prevent stagnating? Are you absolutely certain of the plumbing configuration of your setup?
There was someone recently who found the rain gutters were in some way connected to his pool/spa causing all sorts of issues- builders do weird things sometimes.
Sorry this is happening but hopefully the root cause can be resolved with some investigation!

We actually had leak detection come out yesterday to ensure we didn’t have a leak. Plumbing is solid and he isolated and even blew air through the jet in question (it’s only one jet) and tried all they could to help us out.

What run time do you suggest for spa plumbing? We have automation and can increase time to spa. We use spa often 1-3x week. Run blowers 2x week

I am not sure how your automation is setup.

Run your spa spillover for 20 minutes at least twice a day.

Run all spa jets for 5 minutes every day after spillover has run.

Run your spa blower for 2 minutes every day.

Thank you. Common return makes spillover run 24/7, sometimes just a trickle like when on low overnight. We need to set spa to run in spa mode daily I am thinking. We have Omni logic and need to play with how to make that work
