I’ve now owned a pool for 4 years. I was given terrible advice. A relative told me that as long as I added enough chlorine and shocked occasionally, I didn’t need to test the water or add any other chemicals. I was dumb and heeded this awful suggestion. My grandkids have been suffering with itching after swimming ( I thought they just had sensitive skin) and now I’ve done some research. Lesson learned, don’t listen to a dumb brother-in-law. I’ve posted my dilemma in another thread related to chemicals. I hope I can return my pool to a properly maintained oasis before the 4th of July when my whole family heads over to swim.
