I have heard you can remove the threaded coupler with a heat gun. Has anyone had experience doing this? I'm using a two piece nut and teflon tape that works fairly well, but I would really like to fix it but there is not enough room to cut and replace.
Some time ago I broke the tightening ring on the SWG coupler.

Yes you can use a heat gun but if it's not your first time doing so, I wouldn't try it here.
Yesterday I tried to remove a PVC pipe with a heat gun and really screwed it up. Ended up having to cut and replace.
They make a socket saver you can use to drill it out which has some decent reviews. I'll be trying this next instead of the heat gun method.

Ignore the water, that was from a cell cleaning today. I can seal it up OK with Teflon tape, but I would like the spin ring back.
