Hey All,
Some tiles fell into the pool yesterday and I am hoping to reattach them and fix some cracks that I see behind the line, and near the coping base as well. I've read various threads around the topic but just wanted to provide pics of my situation and see what the best way to go about it is. I did also see a little larger hole right at the tile line.
Overall, I haven't noticed any water leaking except for the natural evaporation that occurs (confirmed with bucket test), so it doesn't seem like a big deal, but maybe i am just naive and its a bigger issue that needs addressed.
Couple of notes:
-There is no deck, I have grass that goes right to the coping which are stones+mortar....that seem to be fairly aged and showing some cracks.
-The pool was more heavily used the last couple days ( splashing and jumping) than normal, usually just relaxing and floating around. Not sure if that exacerbated anything, but odd timing
-Some of the tile spots didn't look like there was any type of adhesive used, both the wall and tile were clean, unless it just has been wearing away
-Those cracks at the coping goes all around the pool, it isn't just that particular spot
So, what is the best way to seal up some of those cracks and get the tiles back on? Is this a bigger issue and a larger fix that needs to be done? Here are some pics
Thanks!
