So i installed the solar sensor on the the same roof face but not thinking i glued it to the supply and return pipes instead of the roof surface away from the arrays and the piping. My question is should i get back on the roof and move it. Do you think the pipe temp will radiate thru the roof mastic into the sensor and effect its reading. currently it reads higher than the air temp so i know its working but would it be more accurate or efficient off the pipes. TIA

Pic isn't completed install. all pipe supports are now installed and system is 100% operational. Sensor not visible in pic just used for showing location.

Normally, it is installed on the pipes. As long as it is in direct view of the sun near the panels, then it should be ok. The sun's heat gain will dominate any other effects.
