I have a limited amount of yard space. We just had an oval 12x24 installed and we had to put the ladder on the end we were planning for the solar roller.
BACKGROUND- Back yard is long but narrow. We are 4 feet from fence and about 5 from house.
No deck as you can imagine, installing a path around pool from back mudroom.
We have a ladder and it can really only be on the end or the corner of the end, due to positioning of trees, other yard elements.
We don't have room for a swing out blanket cover, so we will be installing posts (steel, or fence post type.)
3 options:
1-Install on short end where ladder is - will have to bring cover up over ladder to roll on. Don't know if this is possible or would be incredibly irritating, although we are all about 6ft plus in the family so it's possible.
2- Install on short end where equipment is - blanket may drip onto pump, etc, not ideal. Additionally post would be RIGHT in the way of the edge of our patio/where we want to start installing our path. NOT idea.
3- PREFER THIS - install on the fence side, on posts that are spaced a little longer than the length of the pool - if we go 18" beyond each end - we're up to 27feet of pole. Weight of cover is the same as if it's on a 15 foot roller, so that's OK but we're adding 12 feet of pole. Whatever that's made of has to weigh something. Don't want sag.
Has anyone done this with an oval? OR does anyone have a custom 27+ foot build then want to share? Thanks!
