Hi all,

I have searched but haven't been able to find anything concrete on this, hoping someone could weigh in.

I live at 5000ft by the base of the Rocky Mountains, it's an extremely dry climate., with humidity is often in the teens. I've been taking the cover off in the mornings and putting it back on when there's no more sun on the pool. My question is, with the low humidity up here and a lot of wind every day, am I better leaving the cover on during the day? I've ordered a wifi temp sensor that I can log and compare, but for now I'm just checking the pool temp with the thermometer in the pool.

thanks,

Yes, you are better leaving it on. The primary cause of heat loss from a pool is evaporation. Low humidity and wind both increase evaporation. The cover will mostly eliminate evaporation.
