Solar cover storage

I have a pool coming, and a solar cover is a must to attempt to have a comfy swimming temperature. My question is about how to store it. I envision the cover to be on whenever we are not in the pool. I don’t care for the look of a reel attached to the pool. I like the idea of a saddle style holder but I’m really hesitant to drill into The steel uprights on a brand new pool. Is there any way to attach a saddle style holder without having to drill? Pool is a 21ft Calibay/doughboy paramount with steel uprights and wide resin top seat if that matters. Thanks For any suggestions.

I have an intex so this may not work for your pool (not sure of your pool's design), but I made saddle holders from pvc and attached them to the legs with zip ties.

The zip ties could be trimmed to look better and you'd really not see them. The solar cover is in the holders all day so you don't see the holders at all anyway except at night.

Thanks but no, that won’t work. Pool is a steel wall pool.

This is what I used to have. The PVC is entirely supported by the ground. There are holes drilled in the bottoms of the tops caps, just to keep the rack from moving. You could likely slide a zip tie between the upper part of the pool wall and the leg and use that to hold the rack steady. I have since moved onto a reel. It is a lot easier to use, and I think looks a lot nicer too. It goes across my round pool when the cover is on. To remove it, I roll it up, and then it pivots off the pool onto two 4x4 posts in the ground. It also lives there all winter covered in a tarp like a giant blue burrito.
