We live in Kansas where the wind comes sweeping down the plains (heated in Oklahoma). We're in the country where there is little to block the wind so our solar blanket on those windy days (which are most days) gets balled up and wadded into a corner (if we're lucky - sometimes it is tossed out of the pool). Hubby and I were talking about somehow attaching some of our empty bleach bottles to hold that sucker down.

Anyone else have the problem with the "breeze" ripping your blanket off your pool? What solutions have you tried?

I live in Nebraska in the middle of now where and we get alot of wind but knock on wood our solar blanket stays put. It lays flat on the water and is up tite to edge of pool. now our winter cover was a differant story we had water on it and bleach bottles full of water tied every where and it still would blow up like a balloon.

Like Duckhunter said, the cover needs to lay flat on the water to minimize opportunities for the wind to lift it.
