Smelly pool skimmer

Greetings, I cleaned out my skimmers today and they're smelling pretty nasty. I've had clear, comfortable water all summer long. Recent tests results are low. Not sure why my chlorine is so high, as I haven't added any additional chlorine aside from what's produced by the SWG. Though, my SWG was left on super-chlorinate for a week about three weeks ago. I'd like to know why it has been so smelly before I close up shop.

Can you help me understand what that quote applied too?

Most likely smell is chloramines. Your FC is above Shock level. You should be reducing your SWCG output as your sun on the pool reduces.

Be sure to wait until your pool water is below 60F before closing.
