Small Pool Build - Brisbane, Australia [emoji1037]

Just another thing to chase up.

Always the way - needing to chase things up to completion/satisfaction.....:hammer:

I have a day off tomorrow, so after dropping my daughter off to school I might just start clean the floor of my pool which currently consists of lots of sand, gravel, concrete and other debri.

I have an idea on cleaning the floor of heavy debri without having to dump too much water.

I'll let you know tomorrow.....after I check to see whether my theory works....

Just tried to remove the pump lid (as you do at 10pm in winter) with the wrench strap I bought a while ago. It’s too short by a couple of cm and it was the biggest they had. Sigh. If the equipment guy turns up tomorrow I will see if they can do it for me. It’s not too bad but a couple of leaves and a few little bits of shale in there.

Ran the robot once tonight and he had quite a bit of pollen in his bag. I was surprised as the surface itself looks very clean. His bag was cleaned after his run yesterday. I’ve just cleaned him again and put him on another cycle. Must be more pollen in the pool than I thought and probably the reason for the cloudiness. Wind has gone so hopefully will clear up soon with a bit of TLC. Just annoying that I need to leave my cover off to run him. I was leaving it on until I found him attempting to run along the underside of the cover. He did do pretty well and I was impressed but he kept falling off and trying again. Now I leave the cover off for him but bye bye warm water and $$$.

(as you do at 10pm in winter)

At least our pools don't freeze over here in Aus....:D

Probably difficult to see the pollen that is actually in the water due to its light colour.

Pity about the strap length. Sounds like that pump lid is on tight - probably too tight...!

No, no, no........we want to see it in action.........could make money from Funnest videos!!!!!

Hopefully it will not turn out to be a disaster... but then again...

Umm, so it occurred to me earlier that my cloudy pool is unlikely to be the result of the hairnets and more likely to be the result of the grinding on Monday. Pool was cloudy with numbers good after the plumber work around the pool for the overflow several weeks ago. You think I would have learnt [emoji849]

Terrible isn’t it?!

At least he seems to be wearing some form of glasses.

Not sure about protecting his hearing though.

It came with a cover that I would have put on if I had any notice he was about the start grinding.

What gets me though is if that was me - I would have the foresight to ask or find a cover etc to protect items nearby.

That is because you care...............they are all about get in and out as fast as they can!

Liz I am glad to hear the pool is clear again. I am betting it was the dust, oh so much dust, from that grinding!

So true Kim [emoji53]

Yes pool is looking much better tonight. Pretty much got its sparkle back. Hopefully I will keep this in mind for Tuesday as I’m sure dust will still get in the pool one way or another despite the tarp.

I was trying to follow along but got lost somewhere...what exactly was the issue and what were they grinding? Is that your concrete decking?

I went back and looked at your pics but not sure I was making out where the problems were.

But it makes perfect sense that your cloudiness was from all that dust!

Sorry, I should have explained better. The exposed edge of the concrete pour had to be rendered and there was overpour from the formwork that had to be ground out first. Our shell and decking base were one pour and as our yard isn’t level the path side and patio side are raised. It was this edge that needed tidying up.

You can see the raw edge here.
