I added enough liquid chlorine to bring my free chlorine to around 25ppm. That was yesterday and my pH was 7.8. now my pH seems to be off the charts. I'm using a taylor 2006. After putting in the initial five drops of the 04 reagent, I first try a acid demand test and five drops swirled after each drop turns the sample purple. If I do the base demand test with five drops it's still turns purple. So I can't get it into the right range And I don't know if pH is high or low because both tests turn purple. I used my digital meter and it said 8.0 but that can't be right.

The pH test is not accurate above 10 ppm FC. Please do not try to adjust your pH until the FC comes back down.

This is why the SLAM Process instructions are to adjust the pH to 7.2-7.5 before starting the process, and then ignoring pH during the process.

Ok, gotcha. Thank you for clarifying. My pH was 7.8 before the SLAM.
