I want to SLAM my pool before closing this year. My free chlorine is at 8 ppm free and 0.5 ppm combine chlorine. My pH is 7.7 and my alkalinity is 100 ppm.
My other chemical levels are:
325 ppm calcium
35 ppm CYA
2400 ppm salt.
I have a vinyl pool liner and I am getting ready to close for the year so I am not really worried about any of these levels.
I have read adding chlorine and acid at the same time is not a good idea but with most chemical additions, you only need to wait about 10 minutes with the pump on high if I add muriatic acid to bring the pH down and lower the alkalinity how long do I need to wait before I can add the chlorine to come up to slam level.
