Good morning, I’ve been wanting to post my “SLAM success story” :whoot::whoot:for a couple of weeks now and while sitting and waiting for jury duty seemed like a great time!! Sorry, this post got really, really long!!

Post SLAM numbers...
8/27/2018 2000hrs
FC 9
CC 0.5
PH 7.8
TA 200
CH 280
CYA 80
Still some tweaking to do... but summer is winding down.

Ran a OCLT for s&g’s
0 FC lost

I will admit that I don’t always read all of someone’s posts, my ADD kicks in after a few lines and I lose interest. So here is the important long story short post.

For anyone out there wondering if the plans on this site work... YES YES AND HOLY COW YES!!! just follow all the instructions, no shortcuts, don’t think you know better and no pool store advice!!!

IF your interested in the long story keep reading, if you’re like me and you checked out 2 paragraphs ago, I completely understand!!

Now for the Short-story-Long, for those of you that like to read the details. I thought I it all “figured” out my pool seemed clean-ish.

Every now and then it would change shades of blue/green and I’d toss in whatever the “pool professionals” :pukel:would tell me, I mean sell me. That seemed to bring it around to cleaner again. But before long it would be looking tainted again... Then I discovered TFP. I read A LOT and learned almost as much from others stories of trial and error as i did from the ABC’s and Pool School. After ordering the proper tools for the job (Taylor K2006C) and required refills I discovered that I had a nice algae farm going in the pool.

****Launch the SLAM missile****

That’s another long story that I can relate later if anyone wants to read those details. Very typical story, pool eating chlorine at a pretty good rate everyday and night. Didn’t take too long for me, thank goodness, I’ve seen horror stories of SLAMs taking weeks.:drown:

****Passed SLAM requirements****

Pool now looks amazing and my wife even gave me props on how well it looks! She was skeptical when I started dumping gallon after gallon of chlorine into our “salt” pool. She was a little freaked, but she’s coming around to the idea.:lovetfp:

Now I’m working on tweaking my SWG to figure out how much FC it can generate, while trying to cut down on my pump run time. PG&E is killing me, not all from my pool, I have teenagers too... LOL, but they are back to school so that bill should start to come down.:swim:

Thank you TFP I have already suggested your site to many of my pool friends.

DIY landscaping to come this fall/winter/spring.
