I began my SLAM last night, using 10% bleach. I removed light, stairs, and rail. I've cleaned in the skimmer and rainwater through the slide. I also brushed last night and again this morning. I checked my water around every 2-3 hours at first and went close to 6 hours overnight. The results were better than I expected and I woke up just losing 1ppm. Water is crystal clear and has been, but I continue to have this algae growing on the walls and floor. When I woke up, I expected it to be dead on the floor (like it would be when I used to use granular shock), but none of it is. My guess is there was an error in my initial CYA results, so I retested and upped the amount of bleach. Am I headed in the right direction? How quickly should I expect to see the algae die? Thanks!!

If you see algae, continue the SLAM. Time required varies with each pool. The OCLT is a great tool, but it's only one part. So in this case, continue the SLAM and brush those visible areas to disturb the bio-film and allow the chlorine to penetrate. I wouldn't worry about another OCLT until you are sure there is no more visible algae present. Stay vigilant. Good job.
If there is algae on the wall, you need to brush it off. Brush either right before or right after you add chlorine. Pour the chlorine all around the pool so it can get distributed quicker.
