Second yr TFP pool opening. My open test numbers....
FC-0
PH-7.2
TA-80
CH-1300
CYA-20
Was going to start a SLAM and when I enter my numbers it says I’m out of range for SLAM which I put in 12. Recommended chlorine amount was 176 oz. Here where my question comes into play. I guess for yrs I’m used to the pool store telling me start with 4 gallons and retest. That amount on pool math just doesn’t seem high enough for a SLAM. I know I’m needing to get my CYA up some. With my CYA that low do I get that up to my proper range before a SLAM? Don’t want to give algae on opportunity to start. Do I just start the SLAM with the recommended chlorine increase my CYA and monitor the OCLT and proceed to normal maintenance?
I do know my CH is high and I’d posted last yr about that and believe it has to do with me being on a well which I’ve always tested high in minerals.
Thanks in advance!!
