Slam method without cya: does it safe or possible?

In slam method if dont use cya to keep minimum 30ppm, its safe for children to swiming in pool at 10ppm of FC?

To avoid buying more products (algaecide or alum pac) i do it for heavy user pools this script:

1. Use Chrorine to maintain level FC 4ppm and monitoring twice a day. (Puts half-a-day and at night);
2. Verify the water level of pool and Cyanurate acid;
3. Verify ph interval with eye in TA;
3. TA should vary with function of aeration of you pool: I think 60 ppm can celing ph to 7.6 with so munch gas-off(co2) in pool (similar to hot tubs);
4. Oxidizer with MPS twice a week. If the more bathers the more MPS.

The golden rule: sanitizer + oxidizer + protected ph (TA compatible with pool) + monitoring daily with reagents.

Products used: dichloroisocyanuric acid, bake soda and MPS. Rarely i ve used ph regulators.
Hose water is always treated and know your parameters (ta, hardness, ph).

What do you think about script above for heavy use pool with little time to apply alum or wait fo recover from SLAM method daily?

Is this a commercial pool?

If yes, what is the pool size and how many people per day use the pool?

Is the pool indoors or outdoors?

Can you post a full set of chemistry readings?

What issues are you having, algae, CCs, cloudiness, smell etc?

Hello James!

Pool is outdoor, but just three hours of sun allday. There are a big building protecting the pool.

I ve measured lost more than 1ppm chrorine fc at night. Slam could apply it.

yesterday at sunrise: FC 2.0
now TA: 60ppm, FC 0.5, CC 1ppm, ph 7.4, hardness 10ppm, cya 20ppm

Its residencial pool with too hard use childrens and only 6m3 water. There are waterfall (1.5m), two hidro jets,simple skimmer and 3/4 pump horse power.

Last post you ve attached here, i not have had yet understood the slam process correct. Im evoluting. I hope to be expert.

Now, im waiting for stabilizing chrorine to arrive. So, its best wait otherwise i d do a convencional shock. I m escaping that cause pool all days ready for childrens play and there is few sunlight.

I have dichor too but i stayied afraid to use cause control of cya. Maybe more waste tests...

ive been reading orenda blog calculating atomic mass per mol of cya in diclor molecule to antecipate the result of cya and so on. But im not expert.

Use liquid chlorine if you can get it. Try not to use powders or tablets.

I think this post written by me is really bad. In futher readings *CYA* explain how cya is important in soft pool.

is important to stress this point—the cyanuric acid concentration determines the amount of active chlorine (hypochlorous acid + hypochlorite ion) available in pool water. This is why the CYA level is so critical to know and why TFP teaches that there is no such thing as an absolute Free Chlorine level that is safe; the safe level of Free Chlorine is determined by how much CYA is in the water.
