SLAM: Liquid Chlorine or Shock

Hi, I’m about to start a slam after massive rain. I’m not sure if I should use Pool Essentials 10% liquid chlorine or HTH 4-1 Super Shock. What do you suggest? Thanks in advance for your help.

Liquid chlorine.

Liquid. Easier to dispense and IMO more predictable results. Plus, no side effects like increasing the CYA level.

Was more of a flash flood rather than a rain in Georgia. Lots of dirt and caused the water to turn brown.

May just need some filtering in that case, though extra chlorine won’t hurt.

I started a slam process and have gone through 3 gallons of Liquid Chlorine in 2 days. PPM is usually going down 2-3 overnight. Is this normal usage? Seems like when I shock it is one bag?

Very normal. This is not a 'shock' == it is a process.
