I gotcha. My apologies. Must’ve had a brain fart on that detail.

Post - slam, what are thoughts on CYA? Raise to around 60? And proceed by chart for minimum.

Bear in mind I generally have used an auto cover, historically, during the daytime. So I guess I’ve trained myself not to worry too much about sunshine, etc, for the most part. Yet here I am.

Never run your FC at the minimum for your CYA level. It is just asking for trouble.

Run your FC in the middle to high end of the range for your CYA.

CYA 60 is not necessary for a covered pool. It depends how long the cover is left open. Although CYA 60 will not hurt anything to raise it to that.

We Are #TeamRunHot.

Raise your CYA to 60. Do NOT proceed by chart for minimum. Keep your FC at the top end of the range for your FC. Follow this...Link-->FC/CYA Levels

You want your FC to be in range WHEN YOU TEST! If you need to run your SWCG so that when you test your FC you are in range, then do that. Min is LAVA!

I misspoke. When I say minimum. I mean mustard minimum. Which I think at 60 CYA would be like 9? I am probably using the wrong term.

Am also concerned about running too hot with the cover on. Hear anecdotes about covers being eaten up by too much FC in pools from time to time.

I’ve had thought to come to 40 CYA - experiment with that, that way I can be on the high end and below 10 still. I’ve seen 10 being the ceiling for a lot of recommendations on auto covers.

I need to research that ceiling some more. It’s a brand spanking new cover after all.

Yeah, language and terminology.

Let's start from square one. You need to pass normal SLAM criteria. Clear pool, OCLT FC loss <=1, and CC <=.5.

THEN, raise FC to Mustard Algae levels for your CYA. CYA of 50 would be FC 30 for 24 hours.

I’ve seen a chart involving non slam level mustard minimum. That’s what I’m referring to. Am I interpreting it wrong? I’ve kept it handy.

Any thoughts on what else I can do?
You've done all the things. Well, I might add. (y)

Any chance it's environmental crud blowing in ? I just had a 2+ week span of no overnight loss but crazy dust on the floors myself.

I guess it’s possible. I’m not sure how to gauge at this point.
