Ok, so I “inherited “ this pool with the new house. When I moved in it’s quite the green pond, and CYA tested up around 160(. I had to do the half tap water method to get a result I could read). I drained around 3 feet of water and replaced with fresh, and now CYA tests around 70. Is it ok to start SLAMing this pond I have? I know it will take more chlorine, but I hate to dump more water. Thanks!!!!

It should be fine. Just make sure you dose your FC to 28 and check it often (at least 3 times a day). Add enough to bring it back to FC 28 every time and you'll start seeing results.

I slammed a pool with cya of 70 once.
I believe I went through 30 gallons of 8.25% bleach by the time it was done.
As others said, just make sure you don't let the proper shock level go down.
