Is it OK to have the SWCG running during a SLAM?
I just started a SLAM as my pool water was getting cloudy. CYA is 80. I brought it up to 31ppm using 15L of chlorine.

It will not hurt it. But the tiny amount of chlorine it produces is insignificant to the volume you will be adding during the SLAM.

Be sure the SWCG is off for any overnight chlorine loss testing.

Ok thanks. One more question- is there any way to use a 5ml sample of water instead of 10ml as I'm going through my drops fast when testing for 31ppm.

During SLAM you can use a 5 ml sample. Best to get a syringe or something to accurately measure that amount.
