Skimmer screws will not tighten

I had to replace the liner in my 24' above ground pool. When putting the skimmer back in place, I found that some of the screws will not tighten and I now have a leak around the skimmer. I've tried adding some silicon to the hole and put a couple of nylon zip ties in the hole to try to get the screws to "bite" but no luck. Has anyone run into this before and found a way to fix it or do I need a new skimmer?

Well shoot. Your plastic attempt was my immediate thought as well. Let's see if any others have a trick up their sleeve. Stand by.

What about draining below the skimmer then filling the holes with an epoxy like JB water weld or Plast-aid ?
