I have what they call around NWA a “Family Fun Pool”. 4’ fiberglass sides with a concrete bottom. The old skimmers were bedded in gravel, as are the fiberglass sides. The old skimmers were fiberglassed to the throat of the skimmer in the sides. I sealed the new ones with silkaflex, and am pretty happy with the fit. Do you think I need to fiberglass them back together, or will the concrete hold them together enough?

I think the fiberglass over the joint will prevent it from separating and leaking over time as you get movement of the ground and pool from expansion and contraction.

Doing the fiberglass now will prevent problems later.
