thoughts on an epoxy or similar in Aus that i can use to patch this up? the rust cleans esily with MA but want to slow it down a bit

Gel Coat is a two part repair product used on boats for years. Here's' an example

Just Google "gel coat" and you'll get loads of info on where to get it and how to apply it.

For a quicker easier repair Krylon makes a good flexible spray on coating called Fusion that I've had good luck with. I painted soft white head-cushions in our spa with this stuff and it never peeled or failed in any way even with all that moisture and heat. I also painted a black plastic mail box that is exposed to all four seasons of weather and the results were the same, it just last forever.

The Gel coat will add some structural strength while the Fusion does not.
