Hello,
I had a bout with algae in my pool and I super shocked the pool using the HTC Green to Blue treatment system then I used the included flocculant and let it circulate through the pool for one hour using the "Circulate" setting on my sand filter which bypasses the filter entirely. I then shut the pump off overnight. The next morning my pool was crystal clear and all the dead algae has sunk to the bottom of my pool. When I go to try to vacuum to waste all he dead algae at the bottom of my pool I realized that I don't have very much vacuuming time as when my water level drops below my skimmer intake I completely lose suction. I have a two skimmer pool in which I connect the vacuum hose to one of my skimmer intakes via vacuum plate. If I close the valve to one skimmer intake shouldn't I be able to vacuum even when the water level dips below the skimmer that I have my attached hose to since I'm drawing water from my vacuum head at the bottom of my pool? The only issue is that it seems that neither of two valves that I have will shut the skimmer intakes off from drawing water from the pool. My skimmer intakes are 7 inches wide. Is there a plug that I can buy that will effectively plug one skimmer intake? Sort of like a bathtub drain plug. I've looked everywhere online and I could not find a 7 inch skimmer intake plug. Would doing this be a bad idea? Any help from you pro's would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
John
