After your water exchange is complete you can immediately add the 30ppm of cya (via the sock 
method)
&
start chlorinating at target level as if its there FC/CYA Levels
Once you’ve been circulating a while check the the ph & ta then lower ph to 7.2 with Muriatic acid & begin the
SLAM Process with liquid chlorine.
Why this order you may ask,
Fill water has no cya & we’ve determined you don’t have any in your current water either so you can start that right away (no need to test it again until 24 hrs after adding)
The sock method infront of a return is recommended because it immediately goes into the bulk of the pool water & you don’t risk it being trapped in your filter then subsequently backwashing it away.
& you also need some fc right away while you’re waiting on the water to mix.
To get an accurate ph & ta reading the water needs to be mixed well.
Also, fc levels higher than 10ppm make the ph test invalid so you need to do this before beginning slam (raising fc to slam level) as you won’t be checking it again until the slam is completed.
