Hi everyone,
I'm a new pool owner and due to labor shortage, have not been able to get any pool companies to come and maintain it for me. Since opening, the pool has had a variety of problems, forcing me to learn things on the get go. First I tackled the green algae and PH balance. Next I had an outbreak of mustard algae. After a round of copper algaecide, the stuff is now settled in the bottom waiting for me to vacuum to waste. Only I found out I have no suction power even when skimmer is isolated: I believe it's because the line is clogged by DE filter. When I applied the 6lb bag of filter I did it too fast. Now the pool is white cloudy too. Question:. I managed to schedule someone to come blow the line and clean the DE Grid. What is the best way to deal with all that DE filter that would be blown out of the skimmer? Stir and recirculate through skimmer? Or vacuum to filter? For the rest of my dead algae in the bottom of the pool, can my robot pick them up? It's not a 1000$ Polaris but it comes with a fine mesh.
Thank you,
(About to give up and close the pool for good)

You can remove the DE in teh pool either way - vacuum to waste or push to the skimmer/filter. For the algae you can vacuum manually or with your cleaner, but just be sure you passed all 3 SLAM criteria on the SLAM Process page.
Hi Texas Spash: When you say "push to the skimmer/filter" do you mean stir the DE filter up into the water and let the pool recirculation bring it to the drain/skimmer?
Thank you again.

Correct. It will probably make a mess in the process as it get s stirred up, but it's one way besides trying to vacuum delicately.
