Skimmer Installation with Wall Foam?

New 21' steel wall AGP just finished plumbing last night. Foam wall, foam cove, rhino pad, with XPS foam base.

Yesterday I installed the skimmer by cutting from the outside, through the liner in the skimmer opening and return jet. Skimmer came with butterfly gasket so I put that on (over wall, foam, and liner) and installed skimmer. Filled up a couple inches over the skimmer to check plumbing and fittings. Plumbing was good but noticed small leak on outside bottom of skimmer.

All the screws are tight but the skimmer is still leaking, very slightly from the bottom side. I need to check gasket is aligned properly after work, but I thought so when I installed it.

What's the verdict on the foam wall? Should it be cut out around the skimmer? Should the liner be under or over the butterfly gasket?

Thanks, need to fix this so I can do water chemistry!

Gasket should seal to the liner, anything else shouldn't matter as long your get proper tightness on the screws

I would pull the screws and make sure foam didn't get wedged in the threads making false torque

Definetely going to loosen up the screws and see if I can realign gasket without losing too much water (really don't want water down the wall behind the liner). I will check for foam around the threads, thanks.

To update:

Yesterday morning I noticed there were 2 spots along the bottom of the skimmer that had a small but continuous leak. I went and tightened by hand (the screws were not that tight). I noted that the continuous leak stopped but when I pressed pool wall in and out around skimmer, some water would leak out. I had to go to work but thought it was still slightly leaking, and posted this thread for advice.

Well, after I got home, I slightly loosened and re-tightened all of the screws. Made sure all screws were very tight (not cracking skimmer tight, of course) and dried all around skimmer frame as best as I could.

I checked over the next few hours and the was no drip but if I pushed on wall, a very little bit of water would bubble. Each time I dried it and each time there was less. V checked it this morning and could not get any water to bubble or drip from around frame. Seems to be fixed now - screws were just not tight enough!

Ya you got foam in the threads creating false torque.

Either drain it down remove the threads clean and reinstall without getting foam on them

Or

Keep checking the tightness for awhile and if it drips a little no big deal, the dissolved solids in the water will plug up and seal any leaks over time.
