My skimmer (in-ground) is cracking up!

This was put in around 6 years ago as replacement for the original skimmer (pool is an 80’s build).

I was going to epoxy the cracks this morning (jb waterweld) and realized how bad the situation was as I was cleaning it. I don’t think its really causing water loss. The cracks are all above the typical waterline, but might not stay that way

Anything to be done except bandaid it with epoxy and put off another full replacement as long as I can?

The area around it. I am assuming the deck poured right up to the skimmer is causing the stress

Your problem is the skimmer is outside the pool expansion joint and no expansion joint was put around the skimmer. The deck is putting pressure on the skimmer and cracking it.

I used Plast-aid to fix a crack in my skimmer. It bonds new plastic to the old around the cracks and holes you have.

Yeah that was my take as well. Seems like none of the pros do it right, or at least very few. Ill never use those guys again for this reason and a million others. Good luck to me finding someone who does better.

Looks like you were having the same ‘which epoxy’ debate as well. I’ll probably use the waterweld for some of the big voids. Ive used it before and have it on hand. If it doesn’t seem like its getting into the small cracks, ill look at getting some plastaid
