Skimmer and return help

DIY project.
Small 8x13x4.5 in ground pool. About 4000 gallon.

could a skimmer and 2 returns be on the same side of pool ?? (Long side)
Will have a robot also

Could? yes. Desirable? No.

Skimmer and returns on the same side of the pool will not give good circulation and leave areas of pretty still water.

What the status of the pool build?? No new pictures to add and show what has been done etc.?
