skimmer and pump basket advice

Hello all, I seem to make steady improvement with my pool thanks to the nice folks on this site. I could use a little more

I would like to do two upgrades. New skimmer baskets, and also a new Pump "leaf basket" (or whatever the basket is called, that is part of the pump. Of course there are too many options, and my brain is now misfiring. I could use any help that anyone can provide.

The first thing I want to address is my skimmer baskets. The handles are missing, and so I would like to get new ones with handles. I looked at the skimmer lid, and it said Sta-rite. The skimmer baskets around 8 inches wide at the top, and about 5.5 inches tall. The handles are missing, and I need to use a small weight to keep it from floating when the pump is not running. The pump is a Pentair Intelli-flo VST2.

Is there any particular skimmer basket that is exceptional?

I found this one that seems to be a basic replacement, but with a handle: Amazon.com : 2) Sta-Rite U-3 Swimming Pool Skimmer Baskets w/Handle | 08650-0007 (Pair) : Patio, Lawn Garden.

There are also "skimmer socks": https://www.amazon.com/Skimmer-Filter-Baskets-Skimmers-Filters/dp/B071ZHWNVW/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1501463327&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=skimmer+basket&psc=1

I also found the following more expensive option: https://www.amazon.com/SkimDoctor-InGround-Hayward-Pentair-Skimmer/dp/B01F49GY10/ref=sr_1_13?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1501463327&sr=1-13&keywords=skimmer+basket

The second item to address is the basket in the pump itself. I have one that works fine, but I like to pull it out and clean it, and so I would prefer to have a second one, so that I can drop the clean one in there, and then thoroughly clean the dirty one. I found this one, but just want to confirm it is acceptable before I buy it: https://www.amazon.com/Pentair-070387-IntelliFlo-WhisperFlo-Basket/dp/B004VJSQV6

I am WIDE OPEN to any alternative ideas or advice.

Thank you!!!!

I have this skimmer basket which I like. It's easy to grab and pull out

That is amazing. They also make a SkimPro for the Baker-Hydro skimmers (which I have 2 of...), but it has an 18" long handle. Their Hayward 1080 model seems to be the same as the Baker-Hydro basket, but with a shorter handle (12.5"ish). Time to go home and measure the distance from the bottom of my skimmer basket to my deck!

I received my two new skimmer baskets yesterday. Initial review is that I am super thrilled with them. I bought these, as recommended by Hammond. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SQSEF0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They fit my StaRite skimmer perfectly, they have a nice handle in the middle that make the basket very easy to pull out of the skimmer now. The handle also has slots in it, to provide some water flow in the even the basket fills up.

Here is a really please surprise. I was a little concerned that if I chose to try hair nets or skimmer socks in the future, that the handle would prevent that. However, the handle can by easily unscrewed from the bottom of the basket, it takes 5 seconds. Even better, the basket game supplies with a steel rod, that can go across the basket to provide a handle if you are not using the plastic center handle. Now, here is where I am pumped. The steel rod shows up inside the center handle. If I leave it in there, it provides a perfect weight to keep the basket in place, when the pump is not running.

Hammond - great recommendation, thank you! - perfect basket for me.
