I need to vacuum out dead algae before closing the pool. It seems to be getting past the sand filter so I was thinking of screwing in a spa filter into the skimmer so I can vacuum it out instead of vacuuming to waste. Thoughts? Thanks

IF the algae is dead, its dead. Can you vacuume to waste instead of the filter? But I'm more concerned with if you still have live algae in the water?

Good idea I forgot about de in the sand filter, I've been out of the pool game for a few years. Very confident it's dead algae and quite surprised I had any algae to begin with, my numbers have been perfect. my only guess is because it's next to a tree that is constantly dropping leaves into the pool.
