So I put in a new filter at the beginning of the year, since it was the same filter that I put in right after the re plastering of the pool and the pressure kept rising. Even for my “Florida small” filter the pressure did not rise all summer long. I took the filter out every 2 or 3 months to give it a rinse anyway and it had dirt and grass clippings but cleaned quickly. I remember having to clean the filter at least once a month due to a pressure rise that just does not happen anymore. I had a check a few times to make sure my gauge works. It does, when I run water through the heater the pressure goes up a little.
Apparently there is not much to clean when there is no algae in your pool, who knew.
