pH was around 8.0, so I added some dry acid. Apparently too much because now pH is 7.4 and alkalinity is 90-100. Alkalinity was 110 prior to adding dry acid. Can't tell if currently 90 or 100 because the sample changes color about halfway with the 9th drop, all the way with 10th drop. Taylor 2006. Do I count that as 90 or 100? Anyhow, my primary question is should I add some baking soda or soda ash to raise the pH to around 7.8? Saltwater pool that I won't close until water temp hits 60 and stays there for a week, so it should be running for another couple of weeks at least. I know salt pools tend to have creeping pH anyhow, so should I worry about 7.4?
Most recent test - FC11, CC0, TC 11. pH 7.4 Alkalinity 90/100, CYA 70, CH 170. Calculated CSI in pool math app is -.760, so I'm concerned about that. Before I added dry acid my CSI was -.25. thanks all
