Should I Shock Again?

Hi,

I shocked 6 days ago to a level of 10. There was some algae present & it went away after I shocked. The next day the level went down to 5.5. The CYA is low (maybe zero, my test tube doesn't go below 30). Today the chlorine level is at .5 (combined chlorine at 0). I bought some stabilizer & am going to add it to bring the CYA level up. I have triclor tabs in a floater.

My question is should I shock again to bring hte level up to 10 again, or just add enough chlorine to bring the level up to 3?

Please read SLAM Process. It is not a one time addition.
You should have at least 30 ppm CYA in the water to properly SLAM.

I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry and consider reviewing the entire Pool School eBook.
