I had a Jandy Lite2 277,000 Btu natural gas that lasted almost 15 years with a couple repairs near the end. I have an inground 16x32 Lazy L pool with a deep end and live north of Toronto, Ontario. My heater raised the temp about a degree an hour.

The Avia and Jxi are a smaller footprints than my old Jandy and would require retrofits to make them work so is the Nitek metal worth getting the newer Avia or do I stick with a Jandy even though it's copper since mine did so well and make these plumbing/gas adjustments?

Or is there a similar size heater to mine that's a reliable workhorse you'd recommend instead that's maybe cheaper on parts/service since the warranties don't seem to be that long or honoured if anything in your water chemistry is off?

Thanks

Welcome to TFP.

I think either heater will work equally fine for you.

The Avia heater is too new to have any judge of its reliability or if the Nitek makes any difference.

18 years is a good run for any model heater.
