After shocking my 12000 SWP with chlorine and treating for phosphates my CC shot up to .8ppm. PH 7.4; Alk 110, CYA 40 and FC 8.8PPM. Any recommendations on what should be my step to get the CC under
2ppm? Hesitant to reshock.CC was at 0.00 prior to shock. Filter is clean.

Welcome to TFP.

0.8 ppm is less than 2 ppm.

What test kit are you using? Post a full set of test results.

First reading were from the pool store. I am using a FAS-DPD taylor. Complete reading:FC9.0; TC 9.5 CC .5, ph 7.4, alk 110, CYA 40,salt 2800. I shock my SWP pool on a regular basis with a gallon of chlorine whenever CC goes over .5. CC increased to 1PPM with the last shock. I turn off the SWG when adding the chlorine for a couple of days until the FC falls under 8. Any advice on the best method to get CC back under .5 PPM?

12000 plaster, Hayward SWP in florida. Thanks!
