Setting things up

Hi, my name is Melissa and I’m considering managing my pool independently due to the recent price hike by pool cleaners in my area. I know nothing about managing my pool but think with some help I can get it figured out. My first question is about the 3 basic questions this app asks about your pool. It asks how many gallons, what material it’s made of (vinyl, plaster, or fiberglass) and what type of sanitizer I use (SWG or bleach). This is what I know: 10000 gallons, my guy uses chlorine, and it’s a pebbletec interior. How do I answer these questions?

Welcome! You can absolutely do this and ditch the pool service. Definitely get that test kit - if you have a saltwater pool, make sure you account for that in your test kit but it doesn't sound like you do. Also, update your signature with all the details - pool size, equipment, water source (well or city water), robot, etc. This will help the experts help you.

Hi Melissa! I've been managing my pool by myself since day 1, just because I have trust issues. Your test kit is going to be your best friend and will make things so much easier. I have the Taylor TF100 and just order refills every spring. You can do this  On down the road, you might want to consider a SWG, just to make things even easier to manage. The good people on this site are so nice and eager to help, and no question is a dumb question.
