Seperate pool lights from spa light

So I have the Pentair with 4 relays in it. The third relay goes to the LV transformer for the lights. In the junction box all the lights are tied together.(pool and spa). I want the spa light to be seperate. The 4th relay is not being used. So I have Filter Pump, Cleaner (AUX1), Air Blower (AUX2), and Pool lights (AUX3). Will this unit recognize the fourth unused relay as AUX4? I broke out the spa light and ran it to the 4th relay and back to the LV transformer. It does not seem to recognize the AUX 4 which has the 4th relay plugged into aux 4 on the board. If it does not, will it work with something like Solar that I could use to energize the 4th relay with??? I could plug the 4th relay into the Solar on the board if that will work.....I would just have to know that it will say solar and not SPA LIGHT. Has anyone tried this before????

Welcome to TFP.

I don't know why you have five relays in an EasyTouch 4. You should have the diagram below on the inside of the cover. It says:

NOTE: AUX4 thru 7 provided with EasyTouch 8 ONLY.

Post a pic of the inside of your system.

I don't have 5, I only have 4 relays. The pump connector J8, on the circuit board, is not used because the pool pump has its on relay built in. The pool pump is basically a smart pump and can be programmed and run completely on its on so all it gets from the ET4 control panel is 220vac from the circuit breaker and the low level data line from the circuit board. So that leaves me with one relay that is not being used....The other three are for the lights, the blower, and the cleaner....So being Aux 4...5...6....and 7 cannot be address with an ET4, I was trying to see if there was some other way to address that relay, like with the solar, J17 board connection or something like that....
I find it very strange that they would program two different EPROM's, one for the ET4 and another for the ET8. It would be much easier and no extra cost to program all units as if they were an ET8. Then you could add relays as needed and the program would recognize them. My thoughts are why do they put them in the menu (AUX 4,5,6,and 7) if you cannot address them? I think it is maybe just about more money. I really do not want to purchase an ET8 board just to be able to separate my lights. I could just put switches on the junction box to manually select the lights.......but hey, I didn't pay over $1000.00 to flip switches.....and what fun is that if you cannot control everything with your phone.....I really think the controller should be able to address everything that is in the menu......I am open to any suggestions........thanks
