Seems ridiculous, but how do I close the cover on the Pentair pump?

First, no I’m not talking about the strainer basket lid. But the control panel itself has a flip up cover and I can’t get the dang thing to close back down over the face of the panel. I don’t feel there’s any special tricks but I figured I’d check here before sending an inquiry to Pentair.

I can push it down flat, but it pops right back up to how you see it here. Like there’s resistance or a spring in the hinge. But I can’t figure it out and decided I should stop before I break it.

I’ll gladly accept someone making me feel silly here.

02,

I don't have that specific pump, but I am sure it is supposed to close and snap into place.

Since this is a new build, I'd get with the pool builder and have it replaced.

I suspect it was bent backwards and now is no longer able to close like it should.

You don't want water getting in there and sitting on top of the control panel.. I'd put a brick on the lid until you can get it replaced, or fixed.

Thanks,

Jim R.
