Seeing white flakes (calcium?) in pool after 10 years of never having them.

All chemical levels have been the same. The SWG cell was replaced 2 years ago. I only started seeing these white flakes after adjusting the TA.
My numbers were:
Salt = 3600
Chlorine = 5
PH = 7.8
CH = 330
TA = 20

So I added enough baking soda to get TA to 60. Then added about 1/4 gallon of muratic acid. 2 days later, I saw the white flakes. Anything I can do to get back to where I was before? Should I lower my TA back to 20?

SWCG can create calcium scale in the cell. When the polarity reverses, the scale sloughs off.

It is best to keep your CSI - Calcium Saturation Index (CSI) - Trouble Free Pool between 0 and -0.3 to keep the SWCG from scaling up. Use Poolmath to determine your CSI.
