Does anyone have a trick to sealing the skimmer for a pressure test. I simply cannot get a Seal with a 2 inch threaded plug. I must’ve done something right on one of them because one is sealed fine.
How are you tightening the plug? I have a 3' length of square tube that fits over the square on top of the plug. I can put plenty torque to get my plugs tight. If you are trying to do with a wrench, that may be the issue. I would not over tighten, that can do very expensive damage to the skimmer (crack it).
Go to Anderson Mfr. They have good plugs that ca either be screwed in our will go the depth you need into the PVC pipe to really get a good grip. Here is just one example. They have many more.
