Hi all. I apologize in advance for the newbie question. I really appreciate all the expert info on here. I've tried my best to search for the answer but not quite finding what I'm looking for.

I have a pool that's new to me, and through ScreenLogic, it has a basic schedule where the pool pump runs from 8AM to 8PM. I'd like to modify the schedule to run at a higher speed for 3 hours a day to skim (2500 rpm), then run the other 9 hours at a lower speed (1600 rpm). When I go to modify the schedule, I can modify start and stop times, but I can't modify the pump speed. What am I missing?

System details:
15,100 gal plaster pool and spa
Pentair Intelliflo3 VSF
Pentair intellichlor IC40 SWG
Using ScreenLogic app

Use the SLCONFIG app from Pentair

go to Setup Circuits section and create a Circuit
go to Setup Intellifo section and choose speed

Dont forget to set the new circuit to Show in Pool section of ScreenLogic

After this you will be able to create a schedule for that circuit.

You can also create a schedule in the Easytouch Display menu

McPool,

You don't really schedule different speeds, what you do is to assign speeds to Circuits and then schedule the Circuits to control the pump speed.

Since you have a SWCG, you want your Pool Circuit to run at the slowest speed that will turn on your Salt cell.. Then use "Feature Circuits" to assign additional speeds. Here are a couple of PC Screenshots that make it more understandable..

When the pump sees two or more speeds it will always run the fastest one.

I suggest that you schedule your Pool Circuit to be on for the entire time you want the pump to run each day.. Then just turn on additional Feature Circuits to increase your pump speed at the times that you want.

Please let me know if this does not make sense and I'll try to do a better job...

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks. I will look for that software. Does it use the same login as screenlogic?

McPool,

You don't 'need' to use a PC and you can use your phone, but I find the PC works better for me..

Valves are set on this page...

Valves by themselves have nothing to do with pump speeds... Let's say that you have an automated valve the controls a waterfall.. The Waterfall Circuit would have a speed assigned and the valve the controls the waterfall would be assigned to the Waterfall Circuit. So.. when you turned on the Waterfall Circuit, it would open the valve and run the pump at the speed assigned to the Waterfall Circuit.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Wow, thanks. I found the SLcondig software. I created a new circuit to skim and set the pump speed. How do I make sure the suction is higher on the skimmer than the floor for this circuit?

This was very helpful, thanks.

McPool,

I assume you are talking about the main drain vs. the skimmer... If so, we recommend operating with the skimmer valve full open and the main drain valve open only about 5 or 10%... You really don't even need a main drain, but if you have one it makes sense to keep a little water flowing through the pipes..

Show us some pics of your equipment pad, so we can see what you have... I am assuming that your skimmer valve and main drain valve are both manual..

Thanks,

Jim R.
