Sand under the liner

Put the pool up last year, there was a spot under the liner the shape and size of a foot in which the sand seemed to have washed out underneath the liner. We drained the pool in the fall, pulled the liner back and filled the spot in with sand, put the liner back and filled the pool. I don’t recall it being wet under the liner, so I don’t think it was leaking.

I go into the pool for the first time this year, go to check the spot and it’s significantly worse. Draining the pool again, I’m not sure what the issue is. I don’t want to have to keep draining and refilling this pool.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

I'd say you have a leak in the liner. I caught mine early and filled with some flex seal plus flex seal tape and it's held for 3 years
