Sand or scale?

We had a pH issue over the winter and the pool floor and walls are rough. Everyday we get this build up in dead spots in the pool where the popups don't help.

That brown stuff looks like sand to me, but are you close enough to the coast to get sand? If you ever think you might have a collection of scale from somewhere, try to gather some of it into a pile and pour some acid on it. Fizzling would confirm calcium.

It bubbled like crazy. Seems like a lot of calcium everyday.

What is you pool water chemistry data? What products have you been adding? Your Poolmath logs have not been kept up.
