We have replaced the laterals, main pipe assembly, top valve assembly and sand. Less sand is coming into pool but sand is still coming into the pool. While replacing the laterals last year they all went in fine with the exception of one that went on difficult. We are considering replacing that lateral and including gravel in the filter. Any help or suggestions would be helpful

Since we cannot pin down your filter or pump I will just say that my theory is your pump is too powerful for your sand filter and causing it to blow some sand into the pool.
I think you need to live with cleaning out some sand from your pool or get a new filter. A cartridge filter does not have this problem.
Let's see if anyone has better ideas.
