Sand filter questions : Just going to replace the sand, and see what happens

it was probably around 50-75lbs low though.

I am noticing a difference in clarity to the water to the good. I can tell when I get in and am wearing goggles. It’s like it gets when I run DE in it.

75# low is 25%. That could certainly explain the improvement in clarity now that you have the correct amount of sand in the filter.

Could be! It is nice knowing the job is done right for sure. Worthwhile to me just for that reason alone. Eventually I will take apart the multivalve and replace all the gaskets. Not in a rush to take that on just yet though (same people that did the sand replaced the multiport gaskets) At least it doesn’t leak like it did when we bought the house.
