Hi, im dealing with a sand filter that clogs after 1 hour.
Normal PSI is 10.
When it clogs, the PSI is 0
We had a LOT of pollen as I was opening.
I think that's pollen in the photo, and the pump is just mixing it up in the pool making it very cloudy.
The photo is after 1 or 2 days of no filtering or pump running.
Normal?
Any thoughts?
Best way to remove the pollen? I've tried clarifyer.
Thanks in advance.

Yes 100% pressure drops to 0 psi.

I did an overnight chlorine test with a chemical test, and it remained at 3.

I just had the pool filled and whilst filling a had the filter on Waste and cleared out all of the pollen/algae, and part way i had to switch to Backwash because of the same 0 PSI problem.

Pool looks a lot cleaner now, so I'm running it on Filter today to see if it happens again.

Could the pump be getting weak? It's a Pentair.

Pressure gauge is new 1 week ago, along with the valve.
I've since backwashed most of the pollen out and the pump is only reducing to 50% of it's main starting output after a few hours of running now.
If I do a short backwash and rinse, it's back to 100% again.
I'm hoping this will clear itself soon.
