I have an Intex Sand Filter that I took apart and cleaned. Every inside piece was cleaned thoroughly and then reassembled. I purchased new filter balls (used them last year with excellent results) and added those. I must have done something wrong when I reassembled the insides to the filter as it is now dumping the debris back in the pool. When I put it on backwash it pours out clean water. Both hoses are connected correctly. Please help.

Even if the hoses are connected correctly (in & out), some of those Intex valves must be reinstalled is a specific direction. Double-check the orientation of the valve to the filter body. It could explain the odd reactions.
